The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has issued a notification for the recruitment of vacancies for school teachers with a total vacancy of 1,71,000 posts.

Qualification

• Primary School Teacher (Class 1-5):
  • 12th with D.El.Ed/ B.El.ED or Degree
• Middle School Teacher (Class 6-8):
  • Degree with D.El.Ed or Degree/ PG with B.Ed/ B.Ed Special
  • B.A B.Ed and B.Sc Ed or B.Ed – M.Ed
• TGT Teacher (Class 9-10):
  • Degree, PG (Related Subject) and B.Ed
  • B.A.Ed and B.Sc Ed or B.Ed – M.Ed
• TGT Teacher (Class 9-10 (Special)):
  • B.Ed, PG (Related Subject) or PG with B.A.Ed and B.Sc Ed/ B.Ed – M.Ed

Age Limit (as on 01-08-2023)

• Minimum Age Limit for School teachers (classes 1 to 5) &  SC/ ST Welfare Dept and Middle school teachers (classes 6 to 8): 18 Years
• Minimum Age Limit for teachers of secondary (class 9 to 10), higher secondary schools (class 11 to 12) & class 6 to 10 and class 11 to 12 of SC/ ST Welfare Dept: 21 Years
•  Maximum age for all the above posts: 
• Unreserved (Male): 37 years
• BC/ EBC (Male & Female) and Unreserved Female: 40 years
• SC/ ST (Male & Female): 42 Years
• The age of old age retirement is fixed at 60 years.

Pay Scale

The BPSC TRE 3.0 Teacher Salary for 2024 varies according to the grade level and is set by the State Government. As per the Bihar Teacher Recruitment Notification:

• Teachers for grades 1-5 receive ₹25,000.
• Grades 6-8 teachers earn ₹28,000.
• Teachers for grades 9-10 receive ₹31,000.
• Teachers for grades 11-12 earn ₹32,000.

• For all reserved/unreserved category female candidates: Rs. 200/-
