Food Corporation of India has been set up in January 1965. Its first District office is at Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. Food Corporation of India is a Public Sector Undertaking. It has its headquarters at New Delhi, India. Currently Shri C. Vishwanath (I.A.S) is the Chairman and MD. FCI operates through its 5 Zonal and 24 regional offices. FCI procures Rice and wheat directly from farmers at MSP or Minimum Support Price.
FCI recruits Assistant Grade III under General/Accounts/Quality Control heads. All of you who are interested in applying for the post. Please check your eligibility criteria before applying online. In 2015, FCI is expected to be recruiting more than 7000 AG category I, II, III.

FCI AG III Eligibility Criteria
A degree in graduation is the minimum eligibility that you should posses in order to apply in AG III (General). You should also have proficiency in computers. The eligibility changes slightly when you apply for other sections.
For the post of AG III (Accounts) the basic requirement is bachelor’s degree in Commerce/Mathematics/Statistics from a recognized university. Along with this you need computer proficiency certificate.
For Technical posts you need to be Science graduates from any recognized university. You should be a science graduate in zoology, botany, bio chemistry, biotech, micro biology or food sciences. Along with computer proficiency .
For Depot service, you need to have minimum graduation degree and computer proficiency.
*Computer proficiency: It is better if you have certificate from institution as DOEACC or other such institutes.
Reservations and Relaxations
The qualifications and eligibility criteria have a certain date usually for example you should have the degree by so-and-so date. So while applying DO check on that.
The maximum age limit can be relaxed by 5 years in case of SC/ST candidates. In case of OBC candidate it can be relaxed by upto 3years.
If you are departmental employee you do not have any upper age limit.
In case of PH candidates, the Upper age limit is relaxed by 10 years. If you fall under PH (SC/ST) then age relaxation is by 15 years. And for PH (OBC) the relaxation is by 13 years.
Additional age relaxation by 5 years is applicable to candidates if you are a domicile of Jammu and Kashmir during the period of 01-01-1980 to 31-12-1989. But do remember you would like to avail relaxation under this category you need to produce a certificate from “a) The District Magistrate in Kashmir Division within whose jurisdiction she/he had ordinarily resided or any other authority designated in this behalf by the Govt. of Jammu & Kashmir in the effect that she/he had ordinarily been domiciled in the Kashmir Division of the State of Jammu & Kashmir, during the period from 01-01-80 to 31-12-89”.
The relaxations and reservations are not applicable to you if you belong to OBC creamy layer.
Age relaxation in case of ex-servicemen:
The upper age limit shall be relaxed by allowing the deduction of length of actual military service from his actual age and the resultant age should not exceed the maximum age limit prescribed for the post by more than three years(8 years in case of SC/ST; 6 years in case of OBC candidates). i.e for Ex-military general age relaxation (after deduction of service length) by 3 years, For SC/ST by 8 years, For OBC by 6 years.
This means: if an ex-military man of age 44 years applies and he has service tenure of 14 years. Then his age will be taken as 30 (44-14) years. This should not be more than 3 years than the maximum age limit prescribed for the post. (in case if he belongs to general category 33yrs), in case of SC/ST 8 years (i.e. 38years) and in case of OBC 6 years (i.e.36 years)
How to apply
For FCI applications are requested through online mode.
Usually ST/ST PH ex-servicemen women candidate are exempted from paying application fees.
Ex-servicemen who have already secured employment in civil side under Central Government in Group ‘C’ & ‘D’ posts on regular basis after availing of the benefits of reservation given to ex-servicemen for their re-employment are NOT eligible for fee concession or for claiming benefits of reservation under EXS category.
NO documents are required along with your application form.
Be careful while applying for the post and fill your educational qualification, age, choice of examination centre etc with care and do not make mistakes as FCI do not allow any change in later stages.
FCI do not ask for any documents during the application process. The scrutinies of documents are done during CPT or Computer Proficiency Test.
You need to produce SC/ST/OBC certificate during the interview. The format is given in the official annexure.
