The Union Minister for Education, Dharmendra Pradhan, recently launched the registration portal for Kashi Tamil Sangamam (KTS) 3.0. This event, set to take place from 15th to 24th February 2025 in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, aims to strengthen cultural ties between Tamil Nadu and Kashi, celebrating their shared heritage and rich traditions.

- KTS 3.0 will be held from 15th to 24th February 2025 in Varanasi.

Significance of KTS 3.0
The event holds immense significance as it coincides with the Mahakumbh and is the first Sangamam after the Pran Pratishtha of Shri Ram Lalla in Ayodhya. This edition also aims to celebrate the legacy of Maharishi Agasthyar, an important figure in Tamil culture and spirituality.
Delegates and Participants
- The event will witness the participation of around 1000 delegates from Tamil Nadu, including:
- Students
- Farmers
- Professionals
- Women
- Additionally, 200 Tamil-origin students from various universities across India will also take part in the festivities.
Activities and Exhibitions
- Exhibitions showcasing the contributions of Sage Agasthyar will be featured.
- Seminars, workshops, and book releases are planned as part of the event.
- Competitions and awareness programs will take place in Tamil Nadu ahead of the event to engage the public and raise awareness about the cultural significance of the Sangamam.
Government Collaboration
KTS 3.0 is a collaborative initiative, organised by the Ministry of Education in partnership with various ministries and the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The event aims to foster cultural exchange and learning between the two regions.
Previous Editions
The Kashi Tamil Sangamam has been held twice before, in 2022 and 2023, with approximately 4000 delegates attending both editions. The previous events were met with positive responses, emphasizing the growing significance of this cultural exchange.
Implementing Agencies
- The event is being facilitated by IIT Madras and Banaras Hindu University (BHU), which are the implementing agencies responsible for organizing and managing the participation and activities related to KTS 3.0.
KTS 3.0 promises to be a landmark event, bringing together diverse cultures and celebrating the rich historical ties between Tamil Nadu and Kashi.
