SSC JHT Age Limit
The age should not exceed 30 years as on 01 January 2016. Relaxation of upper age limit is available for reserved category candidates as per rules.
SSC JHT Educational Qualifications
These posts are open for Masters level candidates who have studied English and Hindi as their subjects/medium of instruction. For complete details check the notification properly. The cut-off date for the educational qualification is 01 January 2016. If you qualify the written exam, you will have to provide proof of having acquired the minimum educational qualification on or before this cut-off date. Basically, they will check the date on your mark sheet.

SSC Junior Hindi Translators Paper Pattern
There will be a written examination consisting of two papers as tabulated below. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I.

SSC Junior Hindi Translators Syllabus
SSC has only provided an indicative syllabus for the exams.
SSC JHT Paper-I
- General Hindi : 100 marks (Objective type)
- General English : 100 marks (Objective type)
You will be tested on your understanding of the languages and literature, correct use of words, phrases and idioms and ability to write the languages correctly, precisely and effectively. The questions will be of degree level.
SSC JHT Paper-II
- Translation and Essay: 200 Marks (Conventional Type)
The paper will contain
- Two passages for translation – one passage for translation from Hindi to English, and one passage for translation from English to Hindi, and
- An Essay each in Hindi and English
Even here the idea is to test you on your translation skills and your ability to write as well as understand the two languages correctly, precisely and effectively.
SSC JHT Application Fee
An amount of Rs. 100 is to be paid by General Category candidates.
