Staff Selection Commission (SSC) invites application for 62390 posts of Constables (GD) in CAPFs, NIA & SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles for the year 2015.
The details of SSC Recruitment Notification 2015 For 62390 Constables are as mentioned;
Matriculation or Xth class pass from a recognized board/university.
18-23 years as on 01.08.2015 . The upper age limit is relaxable for SC, ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen and other categories of persons . See official notification for details.
Pay Band – I, Rs 5200-20200 + Grade Pay Rs 2000/-
There are two mode of payments viz; Offline and Online mode.
The candidates need to pay application fee of Rs. 50/- by means of “Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS) or in the form of challan or online payment through SBI Challan/Net Banking/Credit and Debit cards. No fee for Women/ SC/ST and Ex-Servicemen.

Offline – Application in prescribed format (Click to download application form) should be filled and sent to any of the 9 regional/sub-offices of SSC where candidates want to apply.
There would be a written examination consisting of 100 objective type questions carrying 100 marks. The paper will be divided in the following section:
- General Intelligence & Reasoning – 25 questions
- General Knowledge & General Awareness – 25 questions
- Mathematics – 25 questions
- English/ Hindi – 25 questions
You will get 2 hours to solve all the sections. You will have to opt for On-line or Off-line mode of Examination in the application form.
Syllabus for the Written Examination
A. General Intelligence & Reasoning: Analytical aptitude and ability to observe and distinguish patterns will be tested through questions principally of non-verbal type. This component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, etc.
B. General Knowledge and General Awareness: Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidates general awareness of the environment around him. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, scientific Research etc. These Questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.
C. Mathematics: This paper will include questions on problems relating to Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions and relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work, etc.
D. English/Hindi: Candidates’ ability to understand basic English/ Hindi will be gauged.
