A UNESCO world heritage site is a place that is listed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization(UNESCO) to be of special cultural or physical significance.
As of 2014, a total of 1007 sites viz; 779 cultural, 197 natural, and 31 mixed properties have been listed. Italy is on top of the list with 50 World Heritage Sites. India has 32 world heritagesites.
