We have tried to compile everything you would be required to know about UIIC Administrative Officer 2016 Exam Syllabus and paper pattern.
United India has brought forth the notification for recruitment for Administrative officers (Scale I) in Generalist and Specialist discipline for the year 2016.(See Official Advertisement)
The minimum Educational Qualification required for various disciplines are:

The syllabus and pattern of the 5 sections of the Generalist are mentioned below:
- Reasoning: Usually high level. 50 questions carrying a total of 50 marks.
The topics usually covered under this section are: Verbal Reasoning, Alphabet test, Mathematical operations, Odd man out, classification, blood relations, syllogism, coding-decoding, causes effect, analysis, sitting arrangements, statement and conclusion, decision making, puzzle, assertion and reasoning, word formation, series. (Few other changes may be included from time to time.)
Initially this section needs thorough preparation especially with the sitting arrangement kind of questions, but once you get the hang of it, reasoning can prove to be high scoring.
- Quantitative Aptitude: High level. 50 questions carrying 50 marks.
The topics usually are: Number system, LCM-HCF, Number series, Decimal Fractions, partnership, Simple/compound Interest, time distance and speed, time and work, profit and loss, percentage, permutation combination, Data Interpretation.
- English: Moderate to high level. 40 questions carrying 40 marks.
Topics in this section: comprehension, jumbled sentence, fill in the blanks, idioms and phrases, synonyms antonyms, spelling check, spot the error in a sentence, one word substitution.
- General Awareness with special reference to financial sector: Moderate to high level. 40 questions of 40 marks.
It won’t be proper to pin point the syllabus in this section as it is GK. So you need to know and remember as much as you possibly can. Give special attention to economic news and current affairs of India and to world at large. Refer to Newspapers and magazines as The Hindu or the Frontline etc for other information apart from the financial sector.
- Computer Knowledge: 20 questions of 20 marks.
Basic knowledge of computer operating system, MS Office, software and hardware, basic knowledge of Internet and networking system.

The questions of the descriptive Test would be set in English. Keep yourself acquainted with the current topics in financial sector as you can expect at least one topic for essays based on that. Usually there is a choice between a personal letter and an official letter but keeping in mind the current trends it is advisable that you keep yourself acquainted with the format of writing an official letter.
