Salary & Benefits Provided By Oriental Insurance Company
Basic pay of Rs.17,240/- in the scale of Rs.17,240-840(14)-29,000-910(4)-32640 and other admissible allowance as applicable. Total emoluments will be approximately Rs.36,000/- p.m. in Metropolitan Centers. Other benefits such as Pension under New Pension system governed by PFRDA, Gratuity, LTS, Medical Benefits, Group Personal Accident Insurance etc. shall be provided as per rules. The Officers are also entitled for Company’s / leased accommodation as per norms. The salary scales are under revision with effect from August 2012.

Age Limit For Candidates
If you wish to apply for this post the Minimum Age limit set is 21 years and Maximum is 30 years, as on 28.02.2015. There is relaxation in the age limit for reserved category candidates.
Selection Procedure For The Posts
Oriental Insurance Company will conduct select candidates on the basis of their performance in an online exam and interview.
Online Test For Generalists In Oriental Insurance Company
The online test for generalist positions will have the following breakup. Frankly speaking, you wouldn’t find it very different from similar exams conducted by other banks and insurance companies.
For Specialists
The exam for specialist positions is exactly same as that for generalists, except that it has an additional test to test candidate’s knowledge of their field. But nothing much to worry about, the specialist test only covers the basics of the field.
Negative Marking And Sectional Cut off
The exam will have standard negative marking procedure for wrong answers, 1/4th of the allotted marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
The objective and descriptive English Test will be conducted only through online mode. The total marks of the examination will be 200.
For Descriptive English Test, questions will be displayed on the computer screen. Answers are to be typed using the keyboard. You will get 45 minutes to answer the questions.
You will be required to obtain a minimum score for each section of objective test separately for short listing for the Descriptive paper evaluation/Interview.
Documents to be taken along at the time of examination
- Valid Call Letter for the respective date and session of Examination
- Photo-identity proof (as specified) in original bearing exactly the same name and other information as it appears on the call letter/ application form and
- Photocopy of the above photo-identity proof
Application Fee
Payable on-line from 27.02.2015 to 20.03.2015. For SC/ ST / PWD / Confirmed employees of Oriental Insurance Co. Rs. 50/- needs to be paid whereas Rs. 600/- for All candidates other than SC/ ST / PWD / Confirmed employees of Oriental Insurance Co.
The payment can be made by using Debit Cards (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets.
How to Apply
- You need to go to the Company’s website first.
- To register application, choose the tab “Click here for New Registration” and enter Name, Contact details and Email-id. A Provisional Registration Number and Password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen.
- Note down the Provisional Registration Number and Password.
- Fill all the details carefully and upload your Photo & Signature as per the specifications given in the Guidelines.
- Click on ‘Payment’ Tab and proceed for payment. 12. Click on ‘Submit’ button.

As such there is no defined syllabus for Oriental Insurance Specialist Officers Accounts exams. So we would suggest that you simply brush up the basics of graduate level accounts. Hope this helps.

The specialist exam is supposed to test your professional knowledge, so it helps to revise upto graduate level.
